Academic Consulting Services (ACS) began as a family business. Founders, Mr. and Mrs. Urquidez, began with a personal goal for their sons - admission to an Ivy League university. They found that top-tier colleges and universities look for more than high GPAs and SAT scores. Through research, networking, and old-fashioned hard work, the Urquidez family developed a strategic plan and preparation process that works. Their sons are graduates of Dartmouth and Harvard.
Born out of that success was a passion to help others reach their goals. Academic Consulting Services developed a curriculum (Academic Success Program) that was adopted and implemented by high schools in the Wichita Falls and Dallas Independent School districts. ACS consultants also work with Uplift Education, a network of public charter schools in underserved areas across the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. ACS private clients benefit from this experience and network.
Ivy League Expertise
Currently led by a former Ivy League admissions officer, the ACS staff has included graduates of Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth, Wellesley, and the University of Chicago. The ACS team has the experience and expertise to help student achieve their college goals.
Personalization
ACS recognizes that each student is unique. Our staff works with students one-on-one to develop multi-year action plans for college preparation, networking, and the application process. By exploring a student’s individual qualities, ACS prepares him or her to be the strongest possible college applicant.
Access
Colleges recognize ACS for its expertise, innovation, and long history of charitable work. Having worked for years to meet the recruitment needs of colleges across the country, ACS has built strong relationships with many of the nation’s most prestigious colleges and provides our clients unmatched access to these top institutions.
